With climbing suicide rates among active duty servicemen and those with PTSD, VRA has designed affordable equine assisted programs and free access to horses. We not only offer equine assisted programs for the service member but the entire family. These programs have shown great success throughout the years, giving those that serve a family oriented, relaxing, and pressure free environment. Equine assisted therapy offers a relaxing and powerful addition to other therapy sessions. One 30 minute riding session is equivalent to 5 lung treatments for a Cystic Fibrosis student. The calmness of a horse and activities during a riding session gives students with autism a fun and relaxing therapy session. We have witnessed students that had never said a word speak for the first time after completing years of equine assisted therapy. With your help, we can continue to offer our life changing programs.
